[ With the door to the hull open and the rain whooshing as it crashes onto the ground, a rush of cool air tickles them both. ]
All right, kid. [ The Mandalorian looks down to where his little companion's watching with wide eyes. ] If we're lucky, you're getting a bath today.
[ The Child coos at that, ears raising high. He knows the word 'bath' and likes it very much, and goes over to where Newt is to explain what a bath is to her in his special little language. The Mandalorian chuckles, shaking his head, and goes to one of the compartments in the Crest.
From within he pulls a bucket out and a little container of soap. It's not very often that he gets to bathe the Child in more than a sonic shower these days, so he strikes it up to luck that they've landed on a planet that's started pouring. The kid'll do good to have his ears scrubbed and cleaned, and he can even squeeze in a wash for some of their clothes before drying them in the sonic. It's a win-win situation, all in all.
By the time Ripley descends from the cockpit, the Mandalorian nods at her in greeting. Hopefully the ship's sensors have returned no other lifeforms about them so he can get the cargo bay door open. ]
[ There's something to be said about hiring sellswords, or at least the Mandalorian has been told as much beforehand (the exact words Bo-Katan Kryze had used were it is a disgrace to our culture). The war to reclaim Mandalore should be won by Mandalorians alone, he's been advised, but considering the Mandalorian diaspora and the inherent vastness of the galaxy, he doubts they'll have the numbers for a long time.
The Mandalorian understands the value of violent work for coin-- he'd lived it himself, after all. There are unspoken codes of honour even there, however difficult the concept might be in the eyes of an outsider. More importantly, if the rumours are true, then Jeralt Reus Eisner is a different kind of man: leader of a fearsome band of mercenaries, yes, but an anointed knight on this planet he comes from.
When he arrives at the camp, led by one of Eisner's men, the Mandalorian more or less isn't surprised. It looks every bit like he thought it would. As he's led onward, however, and taken to where Eisner himself is, he finds himself frozen at the sight of him with not one, but two children. It's a familiar sight-- children in the middle of all these battle-hardened adults-- and for a moment he's lost in nostalgia. But the man that'd taken him speaks to his captain, and the Mandalorian lifts his head to face Eisner with his visor when he knows it's his turn to speak. ]
Do you take jobs off-planet?
[ That's the most important question, the Mandalorian thinks, more important than briefing Eisner on any details. After all, if it turns out Eisner doesn't, then the Mandalorian's wasting his time. ]
